Funeral for a friend began in Bridgend, a small town in south wales. At the beginning of 2002 Matt Davies was invited to serve as second vocalist in a local combo known as "January Thirst". The name "Funeral for a friend" isnt from the epic Elton John classic rock staple but from a song.
